Experiencing the 'Best of Business' hotel - Four points by Sheraton

While I was facing mid-week crisis, I was invited by Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru, Whitefield for a relaxed fun evening with Best Brews, a delicious dinner at the Eatery and lots more. I was invited to be part of their first of its kind, Beer Master Class at their Best Brews bar along with a relaxed night stay at the property. I was very elated and excited.

Located on the main Whitefield road in the city’s technology hub, the newly opened, Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield is within easy reach from major IT companies as well as the commercial, shopping and entertainment center.

Shiro during Times City Gourmet Week 2014

Shiro, a pan-Asian restaurant is a place I have been waiting to visit from sometime so the Times city Gourmet week 2014 presented by American express gave me a chance to visit them and have a pleasant evening. It was a week long culinary celebration showcasing Times Food Award 2014 winning restaurants across 6-cities.

Ganesh Chaturthi celebration with Modak making at JW Marriott Bengaluru

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi! While many Indians bring Ganpati Bappa home and worship them, they also make Modak's which happens to be Lord Ganesha's favorite food.

I was invited by JW Marriott for a fun activity at JW Kitchen to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. I was clueless as to what was in store for the evening. Upon reaching the venue, I was in for a surprise. Chef Grenal was not just making modak's for us but also teaching us. JW Marriott will make sure I cook ;)

A modak is a sweet dumpling. The sweet filling inside a modak is made up of fresh grated coconut and jaggery, while the soft shell is made from rice flour, or wheat flour mixed with khava or maida flour. The dumpling can be fried or steamed.

Under Chef Grenal's guidance, we learnt the art of making modak's. I tried making some steamed modak's ;) We tried our best to make perfect modak's and savoured them on Ganesh Chaturthi. It was indeed a fun learning and interactive activity, thanks to Chef Grenal and his team.

Traditional taste with a twist at Tim Tai

Passing through 5th block Koramangala, I always see a new restaurant opening after few months. This time I saw Tim Tai, a bright looking restaurant. It is an all day Asian Deli offering well known and popular Asian delicacies. It gives the diners a cheerful, airy ambiance with its high ceilings and a large tree in the middle, bright decor, open kitchen and pops of green. Split two ways - Tim, they say represents the traditional, and Tai, the new twist on old food hence serving 'great authentic' taste but also tweaked to the palates of today.
