RMZ Ecoworld welcomes Bombay Brasserie

RMZ Ecoworld on Outer ring road is the next tech park where restaurants are opening their outlets. The latest entrant at The Bay is Bombay Brasserie. I have visited their Indiranagar outlet for mostly evening snacks, so this time it was would for a lunch meal. The interiors are very elegant and very nicely done, I am in love with their table with swings, picturesque place for sure.
Bombay Brasserie is famous for their pauwa cocktails and food so I was excited to try the same. Let me talk about the best drink which has impressed me the most, Calcutta Kick cocktail which has fresh betel leaves, gulkand and saunf blended with vodka, this spiked Calcutta saada paan is worth trying. The cocktail was praised so much that I wanted to try the mocktail version of it which is Not-So-Saada with additions of ice-cream and additional gulkand, surely a smoothie on another level.
For those who wanna enjoy a fresh cooler then Melon Magic is for you which has musk melon and fresh orange juice with coconut extract for a refreshing taste buds. If you enjoy raw mango then Kairi Sherbet is the drink, a tangy cooler for accompany your meals.
I went with the recommendation of the server to try Naga Ghost Pepper Wings, these roasted and smoked chicken wings and flavored with 'Bhoot Jolokia', the famous Naga chilli which is 400 times hotter than tobasco sauce. You will want to eat more of this with every bite. The next dish which I tried was Kashmiri Naan Kebab, minced mutton seekh with flavors of Kebab chini served on saffron-brushed naan, accompanied by doon chetin, the best dip one could taste, a Kashmiri-based creamy yogurt dip. I could just eat the dip with the naan endlessly. Culcatta Club Fish Fry was the next dish, Fish fry with Bengal's famous Kashundi mustard dip and grilled ananas-alphonso salsa. While I loved the fish fry with kashundi, my friend preferred it with ananas-alphonso salsa.
While my taste buds were asking for more, but my tummy couldn't take much, so decided to try one main course and it happened to be Bombay Dabba Gosht, this baked Bombay Bohri style dish with melt in the mouth mutton masala topped with fried egg is a must try with Bombay Brasserie specialty Chur Chur Paratha which is crispy, flaky and hand-crushed.
With a heavy tummy, it was time to relish some desserts before ending the meal. I chose Amritsari Kulfa, a must try dessert which has Kulfi and creamy rabdi on a bed of badami phirni, topped with falooda and rose syrup. This dessert can fill you up completely. The next dessert which I tried was Ras-e-Aam with Rosgulla in rabdi topped with aamras. with this dessert, east is meeting the west.
The restaurant is open to public and people living near RMZ Ecoworld, Sarjapur, Outer ring road and Indiranagar should give Bombay Brasserie a try and try my favorites or share your favorites with me. This place will not disappoint you.

Beijing to Bangkok Food Festival at Aloft Cessna Business Park

Everyone is looking to try new food these days. I was craving for some hot chinese food for these late monsoons while my friend was tempted to try thai food. With the appetite we have, we decided to go for a buffet.

I have been to Aloft Cessna Business Park many times and I always had a wonderful stay and meals. I am I'm love with their decor. They have an on-going Beijing to Bangkok food festival going on. It matched my friend's and my current cravings so decided to go for it.
They have a huge buffet spread of dishes from Beijing to Bangkok. Various dimsums and bun, I enjoyed prawns and chicken dimsums. Delicious chicken and veg satay freshly made from the live counter. Some grilled tofu and chicken meat balls satay.

One of the delicious mocktails ever had
For mai course, noodles and rice were available with fish, chicken and veg gravy. I enjoyed some delicious hot pot and fish. Hot pots with your favorite ingredients, mine were prawns, bakchoy, mushroom and calamari. Fish which can be shared among various people with lemon dressing which makes the fish even more delicious. The other counters of salads, some more main course outside of the festival was also available. Dessert counter is not to be missed as I had the best Donut pudding at Aloft along with many more desserts and ice-cream available.
Head to Aloft Hotels at Cessna Business Park to relish this festival till 20th of October. Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali.

Budget Bar in Indiranagar is now open named 330

The next time you are in Indiranagar and looking for a pocket-friendly place or in general looking to give a treat which doesn't cost you a bomb then this blog post is for you, just read on.
Down 12th main, on 80 feet road there is a new bar named 330 which serves food and drinks priced under Rs.330. No, its not a joke, but truth. Every item on the menu is mainly Bar snacks and cocktails and is priced either at Rs.330 or less. Well, the combo's are also under Rs.330. While having a quick chat, Harish Lakhiani, the owner of 330 mentioned that the dishes are from various part of the world.

The interiors of the bar is fun, colorful and quirky. While I sipped on fresh lime water, my friend tried the cocktails. First was Doodh Ka Dhibba which is highly recommended, it is a milky tea and rum based drink served in a small and cute doodh ka dhibba which is a milk jar. Next was The Mango Lota which is a vodka based mango puree drink served in a lota which is pot. Both the drinks were enjoyed a lot.
Either you can opt for cocktails or just end up sipping on beer's as the bar snacks are excellent. We started with quick bites - Nachos which was served with Salsa and cheese dip and Achari Paneer Canapes which were excellent.

We followed the meal with Chicken Satay which was tasty and was served with rice, fried egg and some salad and last was Tandoori Chicken Spring roll.
From flatbreads which can be a good sharing option, we savored Chilli Paneer Flatbread. I now wonder why did I eat so much veg. Anyways, it is excellent to munch with beer or share with friends.
To end the meal on a sweet note, I relished hot gulab jamoon with vanilla ice-cream and chocolate brownie cake.
I surely have to visit this place more often to enjoy the other dishes and especially the non-veg section from wraps, burgers, wings, fries and special plates. 330 is your place to go on those month-end when your watching your wallet, when you want to chill at a laid-back atmosphere or give a big treat without causing a hole in your pocket.

Weekday Dimsum Lunch at Zen, The Leela Hotels

What do you prefer for weekday lunches? I normally prefer quick but filling meals. What if I told you that you could enjoy a 4 course dimsum meal at The Leela Hotels at an affordable price? Recently Zen, The Leela Hotels invited me for their weekday Dimsum lunch. Dimsums are one of my favorites and if it is unlimited dimsums then who wouldn't want to try it out.
Zen has not only kept dimsums for their lunch but also paired it with appetizer, main course and dessert to complete the meal and the lunch experience.
To start with, I enjoyed a watermelon mocktail, which is my usual favorite mocktail while I chose Oriental Salad with Avacado Tartare while the other option was vegetable manchow soup with crispy noodles. The salad was extremely good and avacado tartare stole the show. If the appetizer was so appetizing then I was looking forward to the other courses.
Then came the star of the day, the dimsums. They have 10 different dimsums on offer, 5 veg and 5 non veg and you could eat both or choose your favorite and binge on it. I preferred non veg dimsums and savored Steamed chicken dumpling, Lamb siu mai, Hargow, Pan fried chicken shanghai dumpling and Fried almond prawn with BBQ sauce. I loved the steamed dumplings more.
For the third course, if you have space to eat something, you can opt for Thai Yellow, Red or Green curry in chicken, prawn or veg option or Wok fried garlic flavored seasonal green which can be paired with Steamed jasmine rice. Do try their Yellow curry.

Ending the meal with a dessert, they serve Hazelnut Salted Caramel with orange marmalade and coconut tuile. Many wouldn't keep space in their tummy for dessert but this one is not to be missed. It is one of the finest dessert I have tried and its available only in the dimsum lunch.
The dimsum lunch experience is great to be enjoyed for a quick but filling meal on weekdays. Priced at Rs.1200 plus taxes, it is a steal. Head to Zen, The Leela Hotels to enjoy this experience at the earliest.
